Japanese avant-garde designer Yohji Yamamoto has teamed up with cult Italian luggage maker Mandarina Duck to create a range of bags and clothing. The line named Y’s Mandarina plays off the strength of both brands.

Y’s Mandarina will feature 48 signature pieces that will be both innovative and sleekly simple.
Mandarina Duck VP Sergio Rao explains
We were aiming at informal elegance, as well as “new ideas and new concepts that could be exploited.
The collection is divided into two sections - Y and M. The Y Division features avant-garde designs such as a hybrid hood-sleeve-bag. The M division offers more practical pieces like wallets, dopp kits, duffels, and suitcases that combine Mandarina Duck’s signature leathers and nylons with a minimal vibe that’s all Yohji. As expected, the collection is mostly in tones of black.
Prices for the Y’s Mandarina start from $100 for a leather key holder, and go all the way up to $680 for a trolley suitcase.
