The big Fall trend: Marni’s leggings

The big buzz at the debut Marni men’s runway show at the Milan Fashion Week is all about legs. Or leggings, to be more precise. Interestingly the new must-haves for men this coming fall will be a pair of leggings to be worn outside, and not just not just in, the house. Almost half the looks in this picturesque and unexpected collection had models wearing leggings made of microfiber cotton and wool. except a couple of pairs cut above the knee nearly all featured stirrup straps with colors as reassuring as violet, forest green and Milan fog gray. Paired with mercerized cotton jerkins, snug little Rude Boy with manners jackets and Two Tone era skinny ties, these leggings stole the show. Marni shoes were also real winners, with knobby workerist boots in bottle green or metallic gray with subtle strips of contrasting color like burgundy leading the pack. “Unconventional but sophisticated,” smiled Consuelo Castiglioni, Marni’s Creative Director, backstage after the show. So what are the odds that we will actually see guys on the street wearing a pair? I guess we’ll just have to wait till fall for this one to unravel. Via: Fashionwiredaily
